CMI purchases a brand new flat top barge in Holland. The barge renamed “C.M.2007” and provides Saipem with an offshore work platform for construction support on the Kashagan Field in Kazakhstan. The MOA with owners was signed on 26th June 2007. The barge departed Holland on 28th June, transited St Petersburg 4th July and arrived in Kazakhstan and went on hire on 25th July. A remarkable achievement for the Company proving that a privately owned company can move very fast to ensure rapid delivery of a barge for a customer.
CMI takes delivery of the AHT “C.M.Kurik” in Cork, Ireland. The vessel is mobilised from Cork to Kazakhstan to commence work in Saipem’s main Kazakhstan base at Kurik Port. The vessel is crewed with a mix of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan nationals which further emphasises group commitment to maximising the use of local personnel in the areas in which it operates.
