Vesalius

CMI Offshore is pleased to confirm the successful completion of the towage of Cutter Suction Dredger “Vesalius” from Baku, Azerbaijan to Aktau, Kazakhstan with CM Pecos, one of CMI Offshore newbuild 40 ton bollard pull vessels, which arrived in the Caspian last year and which has been working until recently for Saipem on the Kashagan Project.

The towage commenced on 6th August and 38 hours later the “CM Pecos”, towing “Vesalius”, arrived at the construction site of the new Ferry Complex at Kuryk Port. Here the convoy sat in waiting until 9th August, when His Excellency Karim Massimov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, paid an on-shore visit to the construction site during his working visit to the Mangystau region.

This is CMI Offshore’s first job for client Jan De Nul, one of the world’s leading companies within the dredging and marine construction sector.
