C.M. Service Acquisition

Caspian Mainport fleet takes delivery of its fourth vessel purchased in four months. The C.M. Service is a Supply Vessel with shallow draft and good deck space making it particularly suitable for Kashagan operations. The vessel also has a 24 man passenger accommodation module fitted to facilitate passenger transportation.

C.M. Mehran arrives in Bautino

The latest addition to the fleet (C.M. Mehran) arrives in Bautino having sailed from Karachi via Suez and the Black Sea. The vessel was built in 2003 and is a 44 tonne Bollard Pull AHT and will be used by Saipem in support of its operations Offshore Kazakhstan. The vessel was selected due to its Shallow Draft, high horse power and manoeuvrability.

CMI Offshore purchase the C.M. Trader

Another CMI acquisition with the purchase of the C.M.Trader, a 2,700 tonne Ice-Class Product Tanker. This vessel joins the Kazakhstan fleet and is utilised by Saipem on the Kashagan Project carrying diesel fuel and technical water in support of the Hook up and Commissioning Project. The vessel has a 10 man crew and operates on a year-round basis located at the Kashagan oilfield.

CMI holds it first Staff Conference

CMI holds it first Staff Conference held in the Hyatt Hotel, Baku with all off duty senior officers attending plus new members of staff comprising 5 Masters, 4 Mates, 6 Chief Engineers, 4 Second Engineers and 1 Bosun and 1 AB. Staff Conferences and Internal Training Programmes are an integral part of Group policies.

C.M. Wulf Vessel Acquisition

CMI continues its fleet expansion with the acquisition of another vessel (delivery April 2008). This is a specialist Ultra Shallow Draft Ice Strengthened Anchor Handling Tug “Taucher O Wulf 10” which is now renamed “C.M.Wulf”. The vessel operates in the North Caspian specialising in survey and support roles. The vessel is also capable of shallow draft seismic acquisition and support.

CMI completes the acquisition of Survey Vessel “Freya”

CMI completes the acquisition of the DP1 ROV/Dive Survey Vessel “Freya” now renamed C.M.Surveyor. The vessel was delivered in Bahrain and is currently operating offshore Saudi Arabia with Algosaibi Diving and Marine Services (ADAMS) as a Dive Support/ROV vessel. The crew is all Azeri offering traditional expertise at a competitive cost. This continues the worldwide expansion of operations for the Group.

C.M. 2007 Purchase

CMI purchases a brand new flat top barge in Holland. The barge renamed “C.M.2007” and provides Saipem with an offshore work platform for construction support on the Kashagan Field in Kazakhstan. The MOA with owners was signed on 26th June 2007. The barge departed Holland on 28th June, transited St Petersburg 4th July and arrived in Kazakhstan and went on hire on 25th July. A remarkable achievement for the Company proving that a privately owned company can move very fast to ensure rapid delivery of a barge for a customer.

C.M. Kurik Delivery

CMI takes delivery of the AHT “C.M.Kurik” in Cork, Ireland. The vessel is mobilised from Cork to Kazakhstan to commence work in Saipem’s main Kazakhstan base at Kurik Port. The vessel is crewed with a mix of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan nationals which further emphasises group commitment to maximising the use of local personnel in the areas in which it operates.
